YOUR COLLECTION IS PERSONAL
Privacy
If you save a sealed-product watch, we store the product, your optional target price, your account email, and notification delivery state. We use these to send the product alerts you request. Each alert includes a stop-alert link; you can also manage watches from your account. Retailer links may be affiliate links, and retailers may apply their own cookies and privacy policies when you visit.
The optional weekly collector roundup is a separate email subscription from wishlist price alerts. If you subscribe, we use your verified account email to deliver the week’s journal posts through Amazon SES. You can unsubscribe from the Journal page or the link in any roundup. Subscription preferences are included in account exports and removed during account deletion.

Account and collection information
If you create an account, Amazon Cognito handles your email address, password authentication, and verification. chasingpoke stores the cards, purchase details, notes, wish list, collection goals, checklist names and checked boxes, optional checklist card choices, and trade records you choose to save. These features use your account identifier to keep your records separate from other users.
Browser storage
We save a first-party preference cookie for up to 400 days after showing the mobile install suggestion, so it does not keep appearing. This is not an analytics cookie. Clearing cookies or switching browsers can show the suggestion again.
Offline card-show browsing is optional. Saving an offline copy stores card names, numbers, sets, quantities, printing labels and cached market estimates on that device, not photos or purchase costs. Anyone using that browser can view it. Signing out removes the snapshot; Account also provides a removal button. A service worker stores only the public offline screen and its assets, never authenticated API responses.
Optional wishlist email
If enabled in Account, we use your verified account email and cached wishlist target matches to send a daily digest through Amazon SES. You can unsubscribe in Account or through the link in each email. Bounces and spam complaints automatically disable these emails. We retain delivery-suppression information to avoid sending again to the same failing address.
Export and deletion
Account provides a personal-record ZIP export and separate batches of original photos. Account deletion requires a recent sign-in and typed confirmation. It blocks further account access and shared binder links, then a retryable background job removes your app records, reports, stored photos and Cognito sign-in account. Deletion is permanent. Limited pseudonymous deletion and abuse-prevention records and administrative/security logs can remain. Database recovery backups expire according to the configured recovery window rather than being individually edited; deleted data must be removed again if a backup is restored. Exports, offline copies on other devices and copies retained by people you shared with are outside this server cleanup.
Card problem reports
Signed-in reports contain the selected card, problem category, your description and account identifier, page path, and (for grading reports) the displayed grade and price snapshot for review by administrators. Please do not include private information in the description.
Photo condition reviews
Unsubmitted review photos remain in a browser-only draft, expire after 24 hours and are cleared when you return. They can be cleared before upload. When you submit, we store the eight photos privately under your account and queue them for analysis. We send them to OpenAI for photo-based condition analysis. Temporary working files are removed after each processing attempt. The resulting report and source photos remain private in your account until you delete the submission or account. You can export report records and photo batches from Account. The report is an experimental estimate, not professional grading or authentication.
Submitting a review requests a transactional email to your verified account email when a report or retake request is ready. It does not subscribe you to marketing. We retain limited processing and delivery status to retry failures and prevent duplicate work.
Bulk photo imports
Signed-in collectors can upload card photos for identification by OpenAI. We store the photos privately and temporarily process them to match visible card names and collector numbers against our catalog. Clear matches add one owned copy using the condition and printing you selected; uncertain matches wait for your confirmation. We retain import status and send requested results emails, including requests for clarification. Deleting an import removes its photo and cancels pending identification, but does not remove copies already added to your collection. Import records are included in account exports and removed during account deletion.
Saved searches and recently viewed cards
Saved grading searches and up to 20 recently viewed cards are stored only in this browser, not in your account or analytics. You can remove saved searches, clear recently viewed cards, or turn history off. Browser history on shared devices may be visible to other people using that browser.
If you allow analytics, we also count TCGplayer link clicks by placement (such as grading cards or checklist purchases). These counts do not include card IDs, destination URLs, account identifiers or search filters. They measure link clicks, not purchases.
Collection tools also store binder names, copy assignments, tags, sale records, import deduplication identifiers, price-alert dismissals and value snapshots. Binders are private by default. Enabling sharing makes the binder name, catalog cards, quantities and public market prices available to anyone with its link or QR code. Private notes, purchase costs, tags and account identifiers are not included. Turning off sharing blocks future requests, but cannot remove copies or screenshots another person already saved.
If you choose Continue with Google, Google authenticates you and shares basic identity information with AWS Cognito, including your Google account identifier and verified email. We do not receive your Google password or request access to Gmail, Drive or contacts. Eligible verified Gmail accounts may be linked to an existing collection account. Google sign-in works independently of your optional Analytics choice.
Authentication tokens are stored in your browser to keep you signed in. The app also caches catalog and collection data to reduce repeated requests. Sign out on shared devices. Signing out clears the in-memory collection cache, but does not delete saved account records.
Service providers and requests
The service runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. AWS processes hosting, storage, authentication, and operational logs. Requests may include IP addresses and technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. Card images load from TCGplayer’s image CDN, which receives the browser request for those images.
Card scanning and saved photos
Guest scans send an optimized image to AWS for identification without saving a photo in our S3 storage. Guest quotas use a daily keyed digest of the network IP address, not an Analytics cookie. Networks may share the 10-scan guest allowance. Signed-in accounts have an allowance of up to 1,000 daily scans; all scans share a 1,000-per-day site safety cap. Close-ups and failed requests that reach inference count toward the daily allowance.
When signed in, taking a scan photo or choosing Upload photo sends an optimized copy to AWS for identification and private storage, including name/number close-ups. Images are stored in a private, encrypted S3 bucket in US East; recognized labels and any card you select are stored with your account in our database. Photos may be saved even when recognition fails. Only you can access them through your signed-in account; they are not public catalog images. You can view, download or permanently delete photos in My card photos. Images are retained until deleted; database backups may retain deleted metadata temporarily. We do not log photo contents or recognition output. Daily account/site counters enforce usage limits. Cancelling cannot undo an upload already sent. Closing the page does not delete a saved photo. Only a card you explicitly save is added to your collection; saving or deleting photos does not change inventory.
Optional Google Analytics
With your consent, analytics includes the referring website’s origin (without its path or query), public page titles, and approved campaign tags for our collecting guides. We keep approved tags in session storage for up to 30 minutes to connect a guide visit with a successful registration or first collection save. Account identifiers, confirmation codes and arbitrary URL parameters are excluded. A selected card waiting through registration is kept separately in essential session storage for up to one day; it is not sent to Analytics.
Google Analytics loads only after you select Allow analytics. It uses cookies to measure page visits, feature actions (such as scans, collection adds and trades), and technical usage information. Private collection/trade paths are grouped without record IDs in our page-view events. Google receives analytics requests and associated technical information, such as your IP address and browser details. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled. We do not intentionally send account IDs, saved collection records, photos, or search text in our page-view events.
Use Cookie & tracking settings in the footer to turn tracking off at any time. We stop further Analytics reporting and clear this site's Analytics cookies. Requests already sent cannot be recalled. Your choice is saved in browser storage; clearing storage or using another browser requires a new choice. Declining does not disable essential authentication, security logs, or collection storage. If browser storage is blocked, your choice lasts only for the current page session.

Managing your records
You can export your collection and remove owned cards or wish-list entries through your collection page. Completed trades remain in your history while your account is active. You can export checklist rows as CSV and delete a checklist and its checks in its settings. Checklist deletion does not remove owned copies or purchases. Completed trades cannot be individually edited or deleted through the interface. Account settings provide complete record export, original photo downloads, and account deletion, which also removes trade history.
Security and retention
Access to saved collection data requires authentication. Operational logs and backups may retain information beyond a change in the live app. No online service can guarantee absolute security; avoid putting sensitive personal information in card notes.
Changes
