Decide what counts as completing the trio

The individual route uses Articuno (2), number 02/62; Zapdos (15), number 15/62; and Moltres (12), number 12/62, all from Fossil. The shared-card route uses Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno GX, number SM210, from SM Promos. Those are four specific cards to compare, with two distinct endpoints.

If your goal is to give each Pokémon its own place, the Fossil selection fits that brief. If you want all three represented on a single card, SM210 meets that narrower goal. Neither definition requires completing an entire expansion, and choosing one first makes it easier to decide when the project is finished.

What the snapshot actually measures

Our latest card snapshot puts Articuno (2) at $203.99, Moltres (12) at $194.55 and Zapdos (15) at $168.18, rounded to cents. Together, their market estimates total $566.72. Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno GX has a market estimate of $154.63, a difference of $412.09.

These figures are card-market estimates, not offers from sellers or guaranteed purchase prices. They provide a planning comparison between the two projects. They do not establish equivalent condition across the cards, and the difference does not demonstrate stronger demand for either route. No seven-day change is available here, so there is no supported momentum story to attach to these numbers.

A set project or a Pokémon project

The Fossil route keeps all three selections within one named set. That gives a collector who already works on Fossil a straightforward overlap between a species goal and a set goal. Check which of the three you already own before treating the full total as your remaining task.

SM Promos provides the other endpoint through SM210. It can stand alone as the three-Pokémon selection without making the Fossil cards necessary follow-up purchases. Conversely, owning SM210 would not fill any of those three numbered places in a Fossil checklist. The useful distinction is what your collection records as complete.

Write the endpoint before shopping

Put the exact names, sets and numbers on your want list, then choose either three individual entries or one combined entry as the target. Use the dated estimates as reference points when evaluating actual offers. A satisfying finish can be one card or three; defining it now prevents a small bird collection from becoming an open-ended checklist by accident.
