30th Celebration collector guide: Pikachu, Mew and Alolan Meowth

Pikachu 040/128 is recorded at $5.65 with price data dated September 19; Mew ex 158/128 at $117.34 dated September 21; and Alolan Meowth 139/128 at $15.04 dated September 20. Each figure is the Holofoil market estimate stored in the chasingpoke catalog from TCGCSV, which distributes TCGplayer pricing data.

These are dated estimates for ungraded cards, not asking prices, completed sales of your particular copy or guaranteed offers. The three records were not all refreshed on the same day. Open the linked card pages for the latest available values, and compare language, printing and physical condition before using any price.

Alolan Meowth 139/128: check the form and the full number

Look for the complete name Alolan Meowth at the top and 139/128 near the bottom-left corner. The English reference image also shows the set mark 30C EN. Its full-card illustration uses blue stairways and building fixtures, with several Meowth figures. Those visual details help you compare a listing photo with the reference; the printed number remains the decisive match.

Alolan Meowth 089/128 is a different card in the same set. Meowth 144/128 and Galarian Meowth 141/128 are different entries too, even though all can appear in a broad Meowth search. Do not apply the $15.04 estimate for 139/128 to those cards. A listing labeled only "Meowth illustration rare" needs a clear photo of the name and number before you can make a like-for-like comparison.

Pikachu 040/128: the small number that makes the difference

This card says Pikachu, without ex, and has 040/128 beside the 30C EN set mark. The reference image shows Pikachu among bright flowers and lightning, with 80 HP at the top. Keep the leading zero when copying its number into a wish list or seller message so the intended card is unmistakable.

30th Celebration contains other Pikachu numbers, including 039/128 and 041/128, as well as Pikachu ex cards. A shared character, anniversary logo or set name does not make their prices interchangeable. Match 040/128 and the reference artwork before using this guide’s $5.65 dated estimate.

Mew ex 158/128: keep the ex and the numerator

Check for Mew ex, 158/128 and the 30C EN mark. The reference image has 160 HP and a multicolored, translucent-looking Mew extending across the card. The number is 158/128 exactly; do not shorten it to "Mew 158" when comparing listings.

Mew ex 066/128 and Mew ex 152/128 are separate 30th Celebration entries. Mewtwo ex is also a different Pokémon and card name. Even when two listings both say Mew ex, compare their full numbers and images before treating the $117.34 estimate here as relevant.

Check the physical copy before you buy

Ask for readable front and back photos when the listing leaves anything uncertain. Check language, foil finish, edge wear, corners and surface marks, then compare the seller’s stated condition. A name and number match identifies the catalog entry; it does not authenticate a card or establish its condition.

Keep raw and graded comparisons separate. A PSA-labeled result needs the same card, printing and grade to be useful. This guide’s three figures are raw Holofoil estimates, so none is a predicted PSA value or a promise about what grading will return.
